I can't get to my dr. appointments anymore..

posted 13th Dec
My boyfriend and I have one car. He was working 4 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. so anytime we had an appointment we'd just go in the mornings. Well his shift just randomly changed at work so now he's working 7 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. and I can no longer find rides to any appointments. I can only rely on my mother (who lives and works 40 mins away) so much and my other friend who could possibly take me works ALL the time. I have 2 (sometimes 3) appointments a week now..

Clinics and hospitals will provide transportation for you. Call them.

If you drive you could take him to work on the days you need to go.

Why can't you drive him to work and keep the car until he gets out on those days so you can drive yourself to your appointments?

Yeah, that is an option. Didn't even think about that because he works 40 mins away. That's soo much gas though, but I gotta do what I gotta do. Still, this is really stressing me out.

what kind of insurance do you have? I know for sure medicaid will give you cab vouchers to get to and from your drs appt. I would call your incurance company because most will help you out.

There is always public transportation.

That's what I was thinking. You should drive him to work, and then go for your appointments. My husband and I use one car too, and that's what I've done this entire time so far, granted though, I don't visit my doctor three times a week lol. But I hope things work out.

Me and DH were like that for a while... I just took him to work. He only works about 9 minutes down the road though.

BCBS and medicaid as secondary. Good to know! I'm gonna call them, thanks

My husband worked 40 minutes away plus traffic when I was pregnant with my daughter, but unless you can take public transportation or to buy a second a car, you don't have a choice. How else do you plan on getting baby to their appointments when they arrive?
