I just went from 16 hrs a week at my old job, to 42 a week at my new job....I'm having a hard time adjusting, lol. LOVE the money though ;)

I work 40-45 a week. I go to school full time. I hate life.

Yeah, there's absolutely no way I could do that with a kid. I did it before I was married, full time xray program, working 2 jobs, etc.

I really dislike shopping at Walmart myself but I wouldn't turn down a donation from them, that would be incredibly stupid.

At least DH helps. Does the cooking and fixing stuff. I do the rest. Picking up after the hurricane from my youngest, dishes, cleaning kitchen, laundry, etc. And my older daughter helps, thankfully, although she's a bitch about it. ha ha. I'm just done. I still have a year left too

My DH has been helping out with dinner and dishes since I'm working more now. I do everything else, including car maintenance   I clean the whole house on the weekends but it's getting to me that I don't have a day to "rest" when DH has 4 days off a week and doesn't do anything but play/hang out with LO.

Um our part time employees DO get benifits after being employed 2 years.

Walmart is known for being a smurffy place to work, but I have heard that they employ more welfare recipients than any other company in the nation (don't quote me on that). So, at least it has its positives. But I was shocked to find out some of the things they do to their employees, like forcing them to work off the clock, taking life insurance policies out on their employees and cashing in on them, etc. It is terrible.

As for their average pay, are these including higher cost of living areas where the hourly wage is naturally going to be higher than in other places?

lol i make more then alot of people. I actually have a decent hourly wage, and my raise every year is a really nice one. We have hourly associates who make $17.00+ an hour.

BTW no one is ever forced to work off the clock. We write people up for doing that. Unless you've worked there you don't know.

I've heard from other people who have worked from Walmart that they do. Maybe not at your Walmart, but there have been incidences of Walmart abusing their employees like that.

Is this management? I highly doubt that any floor worker/stocker at Walmart is making 17.00/hr.
