Windows 8 laptops

Anyone on here has a Windows 8 laptop? If so, pros & cons?
SO is planning on buying me one for Xmas.. just trying to make sure its not a waste of money.

Is it the touch one? We have windows 8 on our desktop and DH just bought a touch. IMO it's worth it for the touch, but not so much the regular computer. Most of the time I have it in the traditional/classic mode anyway, where it looks like windows 7 lol. DH personalized it for me so now it's easier to navigate, but for a non touch I still prefer the classic look.


ETA:for the touch I prefer the windows 8 look. it works like a tablet with apps.

No, its not the touch. Its the regular laptop. I was testing it out today, its very confusing ! Lol.
How do you personalize it to the traditional/classic mode?

If you're in the windows 8 screen there is a box that says "desktop" click that and it will look the same. The only thing different is that it doesn't have a "start" button. If you want to get back to the windows 8 screen, bring your cursor to the top of the desktop screen until you see a hand, click and drag it down.
