My son got smacked in the face!

My 6 year old first grader rides the bus and when he came home today he told me another first grade boy smacked him in the face on the bus! I called my sons bus driver and she said she was going to call me to let me know and that she wrote this boy up. This is the same boy that put my son in a headlock last year and he was written up many times BUT he continues to be able to ride the bus! I'm friends with the bus driver and she tries to separate the boy from other kids but it doesn't always work. The situation with my husband and I right now requires my son to ride the bus to get to school. I will call the school again tomorrow to find out why this boy continues to be able to ride the bus.....Any advice in the meantime? I'm so MAD!

I don't have any advice in the meantime. Write down every incident though. If the school does nothing go to the school board.

Can you see if the driver will assign the boys to seats away from each other? Like make the one that hurts other kids sit right behind the driver.

Call the school! The school SHOULD do something about it, the school's around here are strict about buss safety.
If the school does nothing, call the school board.

Could he have a bip? ( behavior IEP for kids with behavior issues) that would be my guess or they have like a three strike rule.

But just ask the driver to have them sit apart

The bus driver does have the boy sit apart from all the other kids BUT he moves anyway...he doesn't listen to the bus driver. Ugh.

Bus driver could be more strict, just saying you can't sit there doesn't do much. But that's another situation in and of itself.

Maybe see to it that your son sits surrounded by other kids to keep that kid from being able to come close
