Sharpie dishes- cook time?

posted 12th Dec
So my girl scouts decorated plates and mugs with sharpies but it was my coleader that found it on pintrest and im the one baking them. Idk the cook time and temp. I think 350 for 40 mins but I don't remember. I will be cooking 8 mugs and 8 plates. I have a double oven so I'll have the one rack oven going and the double rack oven going. Will this affect cook time? Has anyone tried this and know how to know when they're done? I don't want them to burn or Wash off. Any insight is appreciated.

How will I know it's cooked long enough? Is there like a test haha

idk.. i havent done it yet. i would cook for 30 minutes and then pull it out to cool.. I'd be afraid that cooking too long might change the colors or the color of the plates.. and then once it has completely cooled it should be set for good.

I guess I'll do 30 and then do a wash test once it cools on a tiny part. If it stays I'll leave them alone. If it rubs off I'll cool it again. That's what I'm afraid of. Ruining the color. Plus I have so many to cook idk if that affects cook time. Gah. I hate tryin new things with other peoples work haha.

So I took a sponge and rubbed a small part of one of the plates where one of the girls messed up (that way if I rubes it away it would have at least helped haha). Nothing came off. So I uses the scrubby side of the sponge to see if it would easily scrub off and it stayed. So let's hope the whole thing stays good too   oh and DDs plate the yellow sharpie turned bronze or wife. Idk what to call it haha. So don't use yellow on white plates. The girls that had an ivory plate it stayed yellow. So idk of its the plate itself or the color.

I put them in before preheating. Then started the oven. Once preheated I set it for 30 mins. Then turned off te oven And left them
In there to cool. But they didn't cool haha. So I the pulled them
Out with oven mitts and set them
Out to cool. They didn't discolor or anything ( well except the yellow but that's nothing to do with the cook time
Or heAt since I had two with yellow on diff plates in at the same
Time and one stated yellow And one turned darker.
