Holding breath

Did/does your newborn hold their breath? My 2 week old will hold his breath all the time. He will turn bright red, then make the loudest grunting noise when he finally stops. It isn't while he is sleeping, so I'm not concerned. But my DD never did this.

Is he pooping when he does it? I don't know, lol

Is he trying to poop?

Nope. It's like he wants to stretch, but he doesn't. Just holds his breath then grunts.

My son did this, and still does. It looks like he's trying to poop but he isn't bearing down. Sometimes I think he's trying to pass gas or something but he's confused. Lol.

Or he will do it when he is mad/hungry. Waaay before he cries.

When my little dude was a newb, he would go, "Oooh!" when he was pissed, like a pre-cry warning that he was about to go apesmurf.
Also your son is SO CUTE. His crinkly little nose... oh man.

lol, he's not constipated. And if this were true, then he is trying to poop 24 hours a day - cus he's ALWAYS doing this.
