Induction hopefully next week?!

posted 12th Dec
Well Im only 40w1d and I have an appt on next Tuesday when Im 41 weeks. I hope they go ahead and schedule my induction because Im tired of being pregnant. Just want to hold my lil man. Has anyone else experienced induction and how was the pain? I was induced with my 13 years old and that labor was long.

I was induced at 40+2 for high bp and other issues. I laboured 14 hours. 2 and a half hours of that time was spent pushing. I've only had one baby so I can't compare the pain but it was horrific, lol.

I know when I was induced before with my oldest, the labor was long and I pushed for all of 15 minutes and she was here but the pain was terrible..

15 minutes?! Lucky   they were about to interfere with forceps because I was trying to push her out so long but eventually I gave that last big push she needed.

I have seen post about this same topic and women encourage to actually wait it out because induction could cause sometimes for you to have to have a c section. I never had a c section and dont want one. I just want my baby here safe and in my arms.

I know me too. I'm getting induced for high bp though so I hope I don't have a failed induction. Oh and I like how you said I'm only 40w1d..lol

Pushing can make you tired so I know that wore you down.

Lol well I pray your induction goes well. I know that mine did. I dilated fine but it was just a lil slow so it might not be that bad. Im scared of that epidural so I shy away from that...

I was induced with my second. I was already 3 cm and 70% when I got there. And they said I was having contractions, but I couldn't feel them. They started pitocin at noon and I had her at 7:06 pm. So it went pretty quick. I only pushed for 30 minutes at the most. Good luck!

if you decide to go in for an induction you may just want to ask them to just break your water and see what your body does before starting pitocin b/c contractions may start up without the use of pitocin. My first I was induced and had a c-section after 2 hours of pushing. She was face presentation and got stuck on my pubic bone but with my vbac no pitocin and pain wise it was much easier. But I didn't have back labor pain like my first due to her position. I can't say really that pitocin made it worse but it did make the contractions right on top of one another vs natural labor I had a good minute to rest during transition period. You are so far dilated that I bet breaking your water will start up contractions and you will be holding your little one in just a few hours.
