That's what I've been doing for about 2 months and it doesn't Work.
I've tried telling her no, taking things away, moving her, distracting her, taking her hands and rubbing my face when she slaps.
She just continues to get worse.

I know she is very young but it sounds like she knows what she is doing when she behaves like that. Have you introduced any sort of a time out to kind of get her to see she can't act like that?

What do you do when she pulls hair or slaps? My Dd tried that, and I told her 'no ma'am' in my mean voice lol. Apparently my tone scared the snot out of her

That's hard for a kid so young!! My daughters almost 2 and still doesn't do that.. Redirect, maybe hold her hands still and firmly say no, and if she laughs I would keep holding them til she seems to catch on that what shes doing isnt ok. As for spitting, when my daughter used to bite while nursing I would flick her cheek just hard enough to get her attention.. maybe try that? :/

Although she's young, sounds to me she knows exactly what's up! Try a small 1-2 minute time out when she acts out. I have a 14 month old and when she throws a tantrum I just ignore her and walk away

My son went through the same thing and to be honest, I didn't do anything except say certain things like " be careful" or "you'll hurt yourself sweety"... he did a lot of the hair pulling too and it freaked me out but he stopped over some time. If he would smack himself in the face I would grab his hand and say "oh no boo boo, don't do that" lol.

Sometimes I will hold her hands and say no in a firm voice.
As soon as I let go she slaps me again.
Or I've tried taking her hands and rubbing my face and saying 'be nice to momma, don't hit'

This kid has blacked my eye, busted my lip, and made my nose bleed.

Holy crap. I have no idea. Does she have a 12 month check up? Maybe her pedi can offer some better advice.

Like just put her in the crib and leave the room?
She has a massive meltdown when I do that to go to the bathroom sometimes.

Yeah she's going on the 28th.
Her pedi brushes everything off like it's just normal.
I've seen other 12 month Olds and they DO NOT act like her.

I mean did I do something wrong?
I keep thinking maybe I shouldn't have picked her up every time she cried.
Or maybe I shouldn't have given her what she wanted when she throws a fit.
Ughh..

you need to start punishing her when she does it put her in timeout something to get the point across to her. If you keep letting her do it now its just gonna keep getting worse

I think the only thing is giving in when she throws a fit.. which, I know its easier said than done not to.

Definitely start with the time out punishment. My Dd hates it, but she has finally realized that I'm not giving up lol.

I stick her in the 'time out' chair for about 5 minutes, and if she's still throwing a fit she stays until she's done.

At first I had to sit her in it, and then keep sitting her there because she would try to get up. Maybe after she sees that she has to have a time out each time she hits or spits she will stop.

Could you possibly change pediatricians? We changed Dd's because he wasn't taking her reflux problem seriously. I know that's not the same kind of problem, but either way he's not listening to you.

I'm going to try time out and see how she acts.
I think she will just scream and scream forever.
