Trying to pick a breast pump..
posted 12th Dec
I'm not looking to pump a lot. I'm planning on getting a job after he is a few months old. It would only be for the time I am working or if I'm not home for some other reason. I don't really want to spend a lot of money because I'm 99.9% sure this is my last child lol. I plan on breastfeeding for 6 months to a year.

All I know is medela is the best.. reccommended by lactation consultants but I believe they are pretty expensive.
I had an ameda purely yours and that worked ok to me.

I have the medela pump and style advanced, I like it works for me and I only use it at work or when my lo is sick/wont eat so I can keep my supply going. I think I got mine for 230 because its in the tote bag vs the backpack/messenger bag which were more expensive.

Medela Pump in Style was the best one I had--I tried Ameda, Evenflo, some other inexpensive ones, even a Medela manual pump, but the Pump in Style was by far the best. Costly though-somewhere in the $200 and up range (don't remember, it was almost 5 years ago)

I have a medela also but if you dont afford one, you can go to the wic and if you tell them you are gonna breast feed but also have to work or go to school they will let you borrow a really good expensive pump instead of giving you formula
