That's exactly how I am. And honestly, smurffy parenting is the reason I don't do family shoots anymore. People have these out of control kids and expect me to deal with it without using bribery.

Oh god, Sof had her nursery photo day last week and every time I took her into the room she just started screaming, I tried twice and just thought, this is not worth it, I'd rather take her to the park and get a budding photographer friend to take some natural shots and print them myself. Blah.

I think she just chooses to take the easy way instead of working to break the habit that she allowed and ultimately created. It would take what a week or two to break the habit & that's it.

I feel like the smurf Mom when we go on vacation with some of our friends b/c they let their 4 year old and 1 year old stay up until midnight or until they drop, while mine is asleep btw 7-8PM. I like my alone time at night & my kid needs his rest.

Well Monday I had a shoot for a couple of kids. Well the girl didn't want to do it so I didn't. And the boy was 2 yrs old in this thin button down shirt and it was like 20 degrees! We shot for 10 minutes and I called it off. The kid was hysterical after 3 minutes from being so cold!!

That's so unfair of his parents. Why does getting 'the perfect picture' matter more than the kid's comfort or safety? It's ridiculous.

That's how I feel!! I mean sometimes when we're going to see my family for a week every year, I let DD stay up till 930 or 10 but that's the very latest. And my kid won't just play till she drops. I have to put her down.

Same here, I'll let him stay up later if we have a function or something super fun going on. My child will stay up all night if I let him! lol
I feel sorry for my friend b/c her 1 year old (almost 2) has major seperation issues and is up her ass 99% of the time as well. I can't imagine how frustrating it is.
