Yep, because I see no reason to caudal a baby and create a co-dependent relationship that isn't going to benefit anyone when you get to the point that they are 15 months old and can't be put down for 5 minutes without a screaming terror. There's a difference in pain cries and I get what I want cries.

I don't see it as coddling*, it's being responsive and sensitive to the needs of a little person who cannot vocalise their needs, which causes them a great deal of frustration.
There is also another type of cry, the I need something cry. Those needs might seem silly to you, but they're not to the child.
I am lucky to have a daughter who has not been harmed by my pandering and coddling and is a wonderful, happy 2 year old who has a full cup and her needs met.

Quoting Little Bug's Momma:" get her tested for a sensory processing disorder, it seems like something else is going on aside from ... [snip!] ... have autism... not to freak you out, but Ive been around alot of mothers with autistic children and it could be a possibility."

im going to look into it and bring it up to her pedi, but i mean you would have to just see to understand. like earlier she was sitting in her high chair eating lunch and screaming "MA MAAAA MAMAMAMA!" and not cheerful or worried cries...she wants me to stand right next to her while she eats. if i ignore her or take too long getting to her she starts REALLY crying and throwing everything off...the second i pic her up no matter what she is crying from (aside from boo boos and pain ect) she does this little heh heh heh laugh and looks around at people as if to say "see what i did there?"

you need to just put her in her crib and let her during nap times and bedtime she will eventually fall asleep and during the day just put her down where shes safe and give her lots of toys and leave her there. She is 13 months she should be able to entertain herself somewhat and not wanna be held all the time. You need to break her soon or else your gonna go completely insane. Its also not fair to your other kids you have to make sometime to spend with them

She has you trained! I would put a stop to it asap or she will be throwing tantrums for a long time to come.

The fact that you state that she does not do this with anyone other than you leads me to believe it is not the sensory disorder ppl are suggesting? But I could be wrong as I do not know much about it.
I would also like to add... You as a mother know your child. You know the difference between a pain cry and a bored cry and a fussy tired cry and so on.

Also.... She isn't delayed bc she didn't crawl until 10 mos and walk at 13 mos. this is quite common with a kid that is held a lot. My DD is 8 mos old and still not crawling. She refuses. Nothing delayed about it.

My daughter was held a lot and crawled at 7m, walked at 11. I saw a mama on here say that the baby she wore the most walked the earliest.

Good for you  . But, I stated it was not uncommon for a child that is held a lot to delay crawling and walking. I didn't say it was a definite. Trying to let the OP know not to be so worried that she is delayed for some other reason. Besides 10 mos is not even that delayed. It's fine.

As long as the child is given the option to be on the ground it generally doesn't make a difference.
Of course her little girl isn't delayed! Those ages are totally in the normal range.

i dont think she is genuinely delayed. she is very smart! she will clap her hands at the right time if you sing if your happy and you know it, she will give high 5 if you hold your hand up and say "high 5!" she can say "stop it" and "quit" (we have 2 dogs, so she hears it lol) she says and waves hi and bye and says mamma, dadda, babba, kitty kitty, doggie, no and dances quite well! im sure a couple of other things too. im sorry i should have clarified, she shows that she is fully capable to try walking and what not, but would rather me hold her at all times.
