She said her daughter is about to be kicked out of daycare because she won't stop crying.

You let her cry and walk outside for a smoke. She needs a break, even for 15 minutes.

nobody will take her because who wants to deal with a crying child when they dont have to AND its not theirs, ya know? she is in daycare 2 days a week four hours a day. they are on the verge of making me take her out because she cries the whole time no matter what. i just dont know what to do anymore. i trust my mother in law but she works, and only likes to watch her when it works for her. we didnt start out on the best terms and she still holds onto that. she is the "suck it up, you did this to yourself" type. honestly i think she likes it, because DD is fine with her, so she thinks DD likes her more or im doing something smurffy or im being a baby.

My middle son was the same way. He had untreated gerd for a long time. 15 months we finally figured it out. And also, something called sensory processing disorder. Now, I'm not saying your daughter has either of those things. It's just your post brought be back to what it was like with DS at that age to a T. And nobody could tell me why he would cry all day, everyday. And going out in public was so bad, we hardly ever went anywhere. And in fact still don't.

I read you said you think she is behind. Your pediatrician does not have to prescribe an evaluation. You can just schedule to have one done with an early intervention center and they can address your concerns regarding the crying all the time. Has he looked into reflux at all?

and we have co-slept since she was a week old. she had jaundice pretty bad and had to stay in the NICU for almost a week, and then had to have the home bili lights for a week after. she would not fit in her bassinett with the light on her, so she pretty much had to sleep with us. the plan was to put her in her crib at 6 months like i did with my boys, but she was not ok with that. they never even noticed the transition.

she was diagnosed with reflux at 3 months. she grew out of it around 8-9 months. its obvious she is pitching a fit and not in pain because as soon as she gets what she wants she is fine.

My opinion is co sleeping would make this issue worse. But I am sure lots of people will disagree with that as they do with the suggestion of CIO. I personally can't do CIO... I have tried and failed miserably bc I just couldn't bear to do it.... But I do not believe you are harming your child by doing so. It works for some parents and some kids... just not for us. This is a great article about cry it out. NO scientific data has been PROVEN at all.

Honestly then, I'd do CIO. It will take a few days, but she'll get the hang of it.

SO sorry to hear your issue with your LO. My son was colic SO i know how difficult this can be. I dont want to say their is something wrong, but it does sound like she needs to be evaluate to make sure there isnt something else going on. Like the other mother said i was thinking a sensor issue. I would talk with your pedi and also have a local company come in and evaluate her. It does hurt to do the test and best case they figure out the issue or give you ways to work with her

That article doesn't take into account any psychological factors that aren't biological. And I don't trust a website like babble, they're sponsored by all kinds of evil companies who don't have babies' best interests at heart.

At the end of the day, you may think your baby is crying for no reason, but there is always a reason. I do think what one mama said about sensory processing disorder is something that you could look into. Some children are just higher needs and not 'easy'.

get her tested for a sensory processing disorder, it seems like something else is going on aside from normal 1 year old clingyness.

we just found out she has a sensory disorder, and start therepy soon.

she may even have autism... not to freak you out, but Ive been around alot of mothers with autistic children and it could be a possibility.

And I could get you twice as many that say the opposite, but we're not going to agree are we? I see no logical perspective that leaving a baby to cry could be beneficial at all because of what crying is. Obviously you have a contrasting opinion.
