Probably not the appropriate place for this, but wasn't sure

Uhm, wasn't sure what forum to put this in - I just really want some opinions. lol
So I try not to be controlling...but I cannot stand my boyfriend's beard. I liked it when it was shorter, but now it's getting full and long and it's RED (his hair is a dirty blonde color) and I don't know if I can handle it. He seriously looks like an Amish guy. He has a moustache too (I finally got him to trim it because it was hanging down onto his lip), which I don't mind. It's just that beard.
I just think it makes him look lazy because he doesn't try to sculpt it or groom it or anything.
I don't mean to sound superficial, I'm just not sure how to make this suggestion to him? I really don't want to be controlling.

Tell him November is over  

I would just say that you think he looks really sexy without the beard. Or however you prefer it.

It sounds very controlling. I would make the suggestion to trim it, but ultimately, his beard, his choice. What if he told you that he wanted you to cut off all your hair because he didn't like the way it looked?

Buy him a bear grooming kit and some bear wash. I just told DH I hate beards but if he was going to have one not to grow it out too much and to keep it clean and he did.

Buy him a beard grooming kit for christmas, lol! I love my DH's beard, but he *mostly* keeps it pretty trimmed.

SO's excuse is that he works outside sometimes, so instead of a scarf he needs his beard.

I tell him it is too long and he would look like santa if he bleached it. He doesn't care lol. Oh well I told him No shave November was extended for me too, he didn't like that.

  She isn't forcing him. It's not like she said she's going to leave him or shave it in his sleep if he won't do it, shut just wants to suggest it and see what happens. Nothing wrong with that.

my dh has a full red beard to lol.i can't stand it when he doesn't trim it up because if he doesn't then kisses me,i get theses little red itchy bumps on my chin and cheeks.just say to him you think a nice trimmed beard would be way sexier lol

But yeah, I like his beard, I just don't like how long it's gotten. It looks silly when it's this long because 1) he doesn't groom/shape it and 2) It's bright red when he's a dirty blonde.
His beard is sexy when it's short, but more Amish-looking when it's long. I don't mean for it to sound controlling, but everyone has that one thing that gets to them. lol

I dont think its controlling at all. You've got to be attracted to him, and he should care what you think. Letting it get a little long here and there is no biggy, but I'd be upset if he left it long permenantly.

Yeah, I don't mind if it gets long and he's too lazy to do it as long as I know he will eventually. lol He was just talking about letting it grow like....a mountainman. However, I guess I don't have to worry about it for too much longer since he informed me yesterday that he's been thinking about joining the military. I told him I'd support him with whatever he wants to do, but of course that puts a whole new set of worries in my mind. :/
