weird but....

As of the last 2 weeks I'v been feeling lots of cramping...sometimes i swear I've even felt braxton hicks! mind you im 17 weeks 1 day today. At work i'm on my feet all the time, and at clinicals, only when we get patients ( I draw blood at a clinic). Last thursday I was really complaining about my cramping to the girls at the clinic and they convinced me to do a urine test and one of the other girls would check for an UTI. After doing so, it was confirmed that I do have an UTI. Immediately I called my midwife, explained my symptoms and she said it sounded like round ligament pains, and then I said, no it was confirmed at the lab where I do my clinicals at.. that it is a UTI. so she prescribed me antibiotics and I picked them up that same day. I've been taking them since last thursday, and this thursday I have my regular app. So we'll see how it goes. Basically what i get it starts out like a stomach ache...but on my lower abdomen...and then I feel my lower belly contract...I can touch it with my hands and it feels hard just above my pubic bone (which should be where the baby is)..these pains last for seconds... I've been having discharge with minimal blood..and sometimes the pain radiates towards my back.
Does any of this sound familiar to any of you? I know it's a long post. TIA

You could also be dehydrated. With my first son I had horrible cramps from being severely dehydrated.

The braxton hicks arent uncommon but the bloody discharge would concern me

Really? isn't it too early to be having those?...I started getting them late in my pregnancy with my daughter....and the bloody discharge is what doesn't concern me because I've heard that with UTIS u can bleed. and it's soo minimal it's like pink..not even..its like kakhi mixed with pink..

I've thought about it..but I'm constantly drinking water though..

Braxton hicks can start as early as 6 weeks.

wow..that's insane..i didn't know that...how often are they regularly? cuz i get em a bunch of times throughout the day.

I dont know about other women but I've had them every ten or so minutes apart since I was 14 weeks. Its really tedious but as long as your cervix doesnt change its ok.
