Two different size boobs..

posted 12th Dec
I am pumping breast milk for my son and I am two total different cup sizes. ugh. I wrote a post yesterday about how to increase my supply and I have been pumping that boob a lot longer every two hours and nothing comes out after the two ounces comes. I don't know what to do but I am so upset and self-conscience. My right boob pumps out 4 ounces at a time and my left boob only pumps out two ounces. Any advice besides continuously pumping? TIA

just keep pumping hah.

It's pretty normal. Least when i had my babies. I pumped with my first, BF my second. Each breast produced a slightly different amount. Usually an ounce off. Pump the one that produces less, first.

It'll take 2 or 3 days of pumping/nursing more for your supply to go up. So, if you just started yesterday, you need to continue another day or two before you see an increase (and drink a LOT of water). Also, being lopsided while bfing is completely normal, happened to me, sorry.

Thanks mommas! I didn't know that and I was so upset when I woke up and my boobs were so different. lol. Okay, I am definitely going to pump the smaller one longer and more frequently. Should I not pump the bigger one for a few sessions or continue to pump it?

Im in the same boat. I was told to keep pumping and it might level them out eventually..granted it didnt with my first pregnancy. I just rocked padding on my "lil boob" side so it wasnt noticeable and once i start leaving the house ill do it again

Are you nursing at all, or JUST pumping? If you are nursing, then no, don't pump the larger one. If you are exclusively pumping, then yes, continue to pump the larger one, just not as long/often as the smaller one.

yes. it is extremely hard to pump exclusively, but it can be done if you're strict about your schedule and have a good pump.

Yes it is very hard and im noticing a change in,my milk supply, my daughter had thrush and i had to pump but she got so used to being able to control the milk flow from the bottle that when i did get her to latch on she would fus.It has become a challenge to get her to latch on now but like the mom who wrote this post my boobs are two different sizes.

My boobs were always two different sizes. It's completely normal. If you want to continue nursing instead of pumping, then just stop giving LO the bottle. After a day or two, she'll forget about it and be back on track with the boob!!

Really? Wow. I didn't know that. I would love to do that I wish I had the lactation person help me in the hospital but I was so overwhelmed with visitors and trying to do it that I just gave him the bottle. When i finally got home he didn't want the boob so I started pumping so that he had breast milk.
