Does insurance cover progesterone shots?

I have HMSA. too late to call right now. so wondering if insurance covered yours?

I don't know about the shots, but my insurance does not cover my suppositories. It's $102 for a 30 day supply.

crap...yeah my last pregnancy insurance didn't cover. but i was hoping since this time i have a preemie to show i really need these they would cover. i found out its now like 1500 PER SHOT!! an i need them weekly till 36 weeks

Holy hell! That's a lot! I guess I shouldn't complain about my Lovenox shots being $1100 a month!

My insurance covered my pills I took orally. It was $10 or $20 a month

what was the purpose of the progesterone? i think theres diff uses.

thats STILL a lot as well!! im hoping i can find a generic or something!!! or somehow convince my insurance company to cover it. i mean it will totally DRAIN my savings if i need to pay that much for progesterone shots. but at the same time if i dont. i could end up with another preemie or one that doesn't even make it to the point of viability.

I know, it's frustrating! I hope your insurance will cover at least part of the cost.

I took.3 a day until 12 weeks bc I was high risk bc my first child was preemie. He didn't give much detail though. I think to thicken my cervix or lengthen it

was your second term baby? im going to ask my dr about the pills. i saw a vid of the shots. the needle is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!! and he said i wont be able to do them myself and im a major control freak. even when i get blood drawn i need to watch. and my dr said it would be on my back.

I had to pay a co-pay of 50.00 a month on it with the shots. That was with blue cross insurance.
