I graduated with a Kimberly. But I was also born in 1990. It's not as common as it used to be. But I do know a girl who named her daughter Kimber. She's a baby.

I have so many Kimberly's in my family and about 5 Kimberley's I went to school with, so I'd say it's pretty common.

Its very much dated to the 70's & 80s. SSA.gov ranks it at 67 which I don't believe at all. Considering SSA.gov does not combine spelling variations of names into one rank I would think Kimberly doesn't even rank in the top 200. There were 3872 Kimberly's born in 2011.

It was much more common in the 80s. Not so much in the now.
