C-section mommies!

posted 11th Dec
I had my c-section last night at 9:35.

This morning I had the catheter taken out and I got up, showered, and have been getting up to pee all day. The spinal and morphine from last night has COMPLETELY worn off now and I am in excruciating pain. When I reach, go to stand, sit down, take a step, cough, laugh too hard, etc...It feels like my uterus is being stabbed and torn and kicked. When did this pain go away for you?

Ive never had one but im assuming if you are in that much pain then you should ask for some pain meds.

Congrats on your new baby.
If you are in pain, ask your nurse for pain medication. They should be giving it to you every few hours as needed.

Everyone is different. My pain went away in about a week ask for some pain meds. Also try not to do much it only makes it worse.

I've been getting low dosage pain medicine every 4 hours because the first note read what the doctor wrote wrong. I've finally got the right medicine, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I dread having to get up to pee. :/

Just keep moving. Walk as much as you can. The more you walk the less pain. I started walking right away. It was painful but not so much I couldn't function. Make sure to ask for some prune and apple juice, mix the two and pound as many as you can. The constipation will be much worse than the pain you are in right now!

If you keep moving, your pain should be tolorable tomorrow. I was making up the guest bed for my mom when my twins were 4 days old with no pain and with my son, I was out of the hospital on the second day going about my regular routine with the 2yr old twins and my son. Of course, you can't "over do it" or you will open the incision. However, you should be able to resume to semi normal activities.

Mine never seemed so bad, but the nurses were giving me motrin and... something else? It knocked most of the pain out. Within maybe 3-5 days I stopped taking my pain meds as often. By my 3 week checkup I felt pretty normal.

I was home from the hospital 24 hours after mine. My best suggestion is stay on top of your pain meds and figure about a week or two for you to feel "kinda" normal. Good luck mama!!!

To be honest it'll get a little worse as you heal. When you get the staples out is when you'll notice a sense of relief. From there is when the true healing happened for me. In about a week I was back to normal.

I sure hope so! I get them out tomorrow. I have this weird burning sensation all around the incision when I lay down or put a strain on my abdomen.
