Here in St. Louis we've had 3 pizza delivery drivers murdered this year and just recently 2 assaulted.
These have all taken place in the north Saint Louis which is the ghetto.
Now I am wondering, what do we do about this? Would you deliver to people in the ghetto? Should you be able to decide not to deliver because of the area?

No you shouldnt have to deliver there and if you are nade to and get hurt/killed I think the company should be held accountable.

If it is a person's job, and that is in their jurisdiction, then yes, in order to keep their job, they should have to deliver there.

I understand not wanting to, absolutely, I definitely wouldn't want to and would quit if I had the option, but someone can't just refuse to do certain parts of their job and expect to keep it.

The town that I grew up in was very small, stuck in between to larger towns. Apparently, the pizza guys were often robbed. They stopped delivering to the entire town because of it. You had to drive to the outskirts, and meet them at the fire dept.

I think they should do non deliveries in north St. Louis,with the crime rate and all the people getting killed and shot I'm surprised they haven't done something about it all ready

It would just suck to need your job so bad that you would have to deliver to places that were scary. I feel so bad for these people, trying to make a living and then get killed while doing it.

If you choose to get a job as a pizza delivery driver you damn well know the risks that something could happen. If you don't want that risk then don't work there

I would look for another job. If you are a delivery person than if you expect to keep your job you have to deliver, even to not so nice areas. But if crime is a horrible problem in the area then I'd be searching the classifieds.

I do too! It is so sad! And such an awful place north stl is!

We all complained but we had no option , if we wanted pizza we had to suck it up.

I agree, I feel awful for them as well, as well as anybody who has to live in an unsafe area due to money issues.

If the entire store decided not to deliver there, I think that would be the best option. But individual drivers unfortunately wouldn't get to make that choice.

Right but some people have no option, I just feel so bad. How scary would that be to have to deliver to an area that 3 people have been killed.

For the people that say no, they shouldn't, do you mean the store as a whole shouldn't have to?

Or do you mean that an individual driver should be able to decide which deliveries to go on and which deliveries to refuse during their shift?
