Yes. Prenatals are just for your benefit, not the baby's. They aren't necessary.

I would take them. They are good for you too. Try the gummy ones, all the others made me throw up.

As long as you are eating healthy, but folic acid is really important for spinal cord development and red blood cell production.

They make gummy bear vitamins that you can chew up that are really good! They have a walmart brand and a target brand and vitafusion. I would definitely try those before nothing.

I havent been able to take em through the majority of my pregnancy and she's doing fine. I know there are a lot of ppl who swear by getting everything from food, as long as you watch what you're eating and making sure youre getting everuthing she needs, she will not come out worse for wear. Remember they didnt always have prenatals!

I threw up my vitamin everyday. Your baby will be fine. But I think you should suck it up and take it anyway.... I think it's more for you than it is for the baby. S/He gets everything they need from you.

I wld talk to your doctor about options even if you can just get the folic acid down that would be good. They can prescribe diff vitamins or recommend something that might work for you. I know people who didnt take prenatals there whole pregnancy and their babies are fine but you dont wanna chance it. How far along are you? The problem with vitamins may subside with the morning sickness, if your in your first trimester.

Do flintstones. I couldn't stomach the prenatals either. I would suggest that you take some sort of vitamin. The baby robs you pretty good and if you are deficient in the first place it will make it that much worse. Pregnancy is the hardest time to eat properly. If you aren't barfing it up, you don't like the look of smell of it. lol I just took 2 flintstone vitamins daily. My OBGYN's (two different pregnancies in different states) both said the exact same thing.

I haven't taken prenatals with any of my pregnancies and I have two very healthy kids ages 6 and almost 2 and I am in the middle of my third very healthy pregnancy.
Those vitamins are for you to replace what baby is taking. No matter what baby will gt what he/she needs even if it means you miss out on nutrients.

they are for the baby's benefit as well. healthy mom = healthy baby. plus the folic acid is soo important for the baby.
OP, i would just keep trying to find one you can deal with.. Maybe try to find some liquid ones?

try flinstone vitamins. they are not just for your benefit. They help make sure you get enough folic acid to prevent brain issues like parts of the brain and spinal issues like spinabiffida.
