Letting a pregnancy go past 42 weeks (POST term) is just as dangerous as the baby coming PRE term.

Yup we tell them constantly. But apparently it never sinks in. Now I'm ever more bitter about it cause I can't go full term and have to have a csection and all these ladies bitch about hitting 40 weeks. I'd give anything to go overdue

How do you know that half of the women on this site were induced? I wasn't.

I have been induced. Twice. Went overdue once.
Not your baby, not your choice.

I wouldn't say that. Can it be dangerous, of course, but premature birth is much more likely to cause problems. Close monitoring can eliminate the majority of the risks with post dates.

Sometimes a C-section is what's best. I don't think most women want a C-section by any means.

I didn't want my Induction or C-section but it was what was best for DS.

46% of statistics are made up on the spot.

How do you know how many ladies were induced?? And of that "half," how many were elective and how many were medically necessary?
I wish I could have gone full term and maybe beyond. Some women just don't. The end of pregnancy can be excrutiating. I don't think that's an excuse but some women and their doctors do.
Good luck with your water birth! I want to try that next time.

Ps- I was induced and delivered vaginally ;)

Yeah, honey - all times. The placenta begins to fail after that point, which means dimished oxygen to the baby. I delivered my oldest at 42+3 (with a midwife) and she said they SHOULD have induced sooner because my placenta "looked like beat up hamburger". I had a c-section.

Frankly, I think you come across very judgemental - you don't know every woman's situation, and you certainly don't know enough to be making decisions about "half the women" on this site.
