Quoting Blair Waldorf (SuperKink):" But it doesn't say "Christian" it says "I have religion and I married." So that would apply to you if you have religion of WHATEVER type and got married."

I don't marry. I handfast, in the eyes of my religion.

But I get what you're saying. I was pointing out how it read to me, especially reading the asinine quote below it.

I was thinking the same thing lol... when I read the poll (before I read the OP) I didn't think it sounded like it was only for Christians

You look at marriage differently than others, meaning you believe that there are things that make some marriages more legit than others. So who is judging whos beliefs/lives?

No, you just subtly imply it. That's MUCH better.

She has an opinion of marriage. Not a judgement.

It was because reading the quote and then the poll, it sounds like that's what's meant.

I get what you meant now.

Oh bullsmurf. It's pretty clear by what you said that you think everyone who doesn't believe as you do should have to have "separate but equal" rights. It's not your damn business what religion anyone is-or how they define their marriage- which is a legal agreement, with or without religion.

Pointing your pious little finger and saying essentially "well IM MORE married than you" is not only very offensive and condescending, but also makes you look like a holier than thou class A bitch.

People who are religious are just as guilty as people who are not for failing marriages.

I am incredibly insulted when religious people say things that clearly indicate that they think, as an atheist that I:

A.) Am flippant or shallow when it comes to matters of the universe and general existence.
B.) That I am uneducated, unwilling to understand, or under exposed to "the right" things.
C.) That I could be "as good" as them if I cared to, but I just would rather go to hell

I don't wish them to come down to reality, I leave them alone. There is a lack of respect because it is socially acceptable to not trust or look down on an atheist.

I don't think a marriage is more sacred than a civil union. And I don't see why someone should be permitted to marry if ONLY they are religious. This sounds so ridiculous IMO.

My MIL is ridiculous religious, and was heart broken that our wedding ceremony didn't mention anything about God, even though she knows we're agnostic. She's also on her 5th marriage. Just sayin, don't think hers is necessarily any more special than ours simply becuase she believes in an afterlife in heaven. Just sayin.

Yeah, your opinion on marriage is asinine. So because I don't believe in your God, I'm not allowed, in your 'opinion' to marry, or I shouldn't be? Bullsmurf.

Lol, okay. I never even asked the woman who I quoted what religion she is, never thought it mattered. I know nothing about religion, to me.. religion is religion. haha.
