I'm shocked that a judge didn't LAUGH in her face when she asked for custody of her grandchildren. They have a stable home. And I'm still sad that her other two kids don't live with you anymore. I think that was screwed up as well to just uproot the kids after they just lost their mom.

Her mother was all about casting an air of suspicion about her death - and since we didnt have a death certificate at the time, I think he did what he felt was safest. BUT we have an official one now and dfcts has been to our house and cleared us as non abusice and non neglectful, so i fail to see why we are still having issues other than sheer homophobia.Her mom still holds the opinion that her daughter was not gay despite her "coming out" to her mom twice via written communication. But we never had a shot at the other two. Their biological father had rights over them and I accept that even though I love them dearly.

Oh definitely, i dont question his ability to parent. It was definitely hard, though, and we hope that hes willing to let them see our kids, thats whats important.
