posted 11th Dec
I need some ideas of what to pack my LO for school lunches...he's getting sick of the same old thing. He's not terribly picky. Also I have to keep it healthy.

My daughters favorite lunch is a sliced bagel and cream cheese. I pack the little packets of cream cheese and a plastic spoon so she can spread it herself.

for kindergarten and higher though, where it is each child individually, it should be fine   that's one of my kids' favorite things lol

I usually pack my kids sandwiches:
Jelly (daughter is allergic to PB).
Ham and cheese
Turkey and avocado
Chicken salad

Occasionally I'll do chicken nuggets

Leftovers from dinner the night before.

Soups

For sides/snacks I'll do carrots and celery or grape tomatoes with dip, grapes, clementines, pretzels, goldfish crackers, Cucumber slices, etc...

Once in a while I'll give a treat like a cookie or a granola bar.

Yogurt, pudding or jello.

This page has a TON of ideas, too.

I would pack a lot of leftovers, especially done over in creative ways. If we have meat of some sort, I usually will shred it and make it into a "salad sandich" of whatever it is (Chicken, turkey, pork....) and add things like chopped celery and grapes into it. (like I do all my salad sandwiches). Gives it a crunch and nice fresh taste.

For the sides, things like Cheese sticks, fruit cups, sliced fruit / vegetables with things like cream cheese or dressing dips, Hummus and pita chips.....

Doing things like making a big batch of chili and freezing it in smaller containers you can just take out and reheat would mix things up a little.
