for ds lunch i do
Either- Bagel-muffin-soft pretzel-sandwich-left overs or pasta
i always do a fruit and a vegatable
and then a dairy (yogurt-string cheese-cheese wheel-cut up cheese- cottage cheese ect)
and then i do a snack which is mainly fruit leather-popcorn-almonds

sometimes i will just do a yougurt parfit as the snack part with a veggie and he loves it.

I do a pbj roll up with almond buttter since he has a peanut free school. he gets a kick out of those.
I also do a rainbow lunch with bright color food, oranges, blueberries, rasberries, cottage cheese and wheat thins

we have a bento box and its really fun and helps keep things not so boring. there are tons of ideas for bento lunches.
