Who should be in the room?

I'm wondering if I should have my other kids in the room when we have our son, my daughter is almost 2 and there is no one who is willing to watch her so we have to bring her with and the hospital is saying that she isn't allowed that my husband is going to have to be in the waiting room with her or to ask a neighbor to come and hold her? We live in a small town with a lot of old people I have 3 houses around me and one one is empty and the other two are old people who don't really leave thier house. I want my older two to be there but I know thier dad won't let them, even though they are asking to be.

Well anyways should I try my best to get someone to take my daughter so my husband don't miss the birth? And, should I let my older two who is 6 and almost 5 be there?

I'd try to get someone to watch the kids. A birth can end up lasting forever, you know? 12 hours. 24 hours. Do you really want to deal with kids couped up for that? Not to mention that, depending on the kid, it can be really scary. If they need to leave then your husband will miss the birth when he has to take them out.

I think you should definitely find someone to watch the little one...2 is way too young to witness something like birth, even if the hospital WAS ok with it.

Eh my two year old was there for the birth of my second. I was in the same situation she was scared at first but now she loves to people about her sister being born and how the baby was wet and messy. I had my husband stay home until I was getting closer which for me was basically being admitted since I was already 5cm. My fil was on the next plane to get to us but baby came before the plane did.

My 2 year old witnessed his brother's birth (he's 3.5 now).

2 isn't too young, depending on the kid. My son handled it great and wants to see his sister born this time. I'm going to have a friend come who can be ready to take him out at any time if he gets overwhelmed or bored if it takes a long time, but otherwise he'll be in the room.

I have a hard time with my body going into labor, I have had to be induced everytime, so this time they are going to be inducing me again they are going to wait until next week to give me a chance but once they started my labor I go from 4 cm or so to having my kids out in 30 mins to an hour later. So I'm not worried about it being to long.

The samething happened to my second being born my oldest watched her brother being born. She was fine, just now she saids is that she don't want brother to be hurt and covered in blood. So I'm worried about that. But her and my son want to be thier but I know thier day won't let them let alone bring them see me at the hospital after.

So she liked it? My first don't remember it, but she wants to see her borther this time, they wanted to be there for my last but the hospital wouldn't even let anyone in the door of labor and delivery, that really upsetted me.

I don't think 2 is young either, she just gets bored really fast and easy. I'm only worried about her throwing a fit and the nurses getting mad about it. So maybe bring things she would play with? But, then again if her brother and sister were to be there they can play with her too. The only other person who can go to the delivery would be my brother in law but I don't think he can handle everything at 15, lol.

I wouldn't say she liked it but she isn't scarred for life either. I took the iPad and let her watch movies luckily my labor was only two hours and my fil was there a few hours later so she wasn't there for a long time
