lol. yes, that doesnt make sense to this discussion. In the OP, i envisioned an unconscious person and a heavy bundle of cash.

Was the homeless person in the OP capable of helping him/herself?

If they're in a psychiatrists office or at the hospital, they're seeking help, which is not relevant to what I'd said at all

Quoting Lovelyyy KD*:" You're in a building that catches fire, you can only save ONE thing. Your two options are: A.) a homeless ... [snip!] ... would try to save both if possible. Why did you choose what you did? (i got this from the mentalist, if you've seen it...)"

The homeless man for many reasons.
It's a human. Money is irrelevant in the long run. I would feel incredibly ashamed of myself if I grabbed the money and not the human. Now if we get down to it, I'm 36 weeks pregnant and not very strong, so I couldn't drag a guy out but... my effort would go to the human being before the money.

That's not true. Many addicts end up in the ER for overdose. Doesn't mean they're seeking help.
Also, lots of people are court ordered to get help, but addiction is hard to kick. That's why it's classified as a disease. It's not so simple as "hmm crack is bad, guess I shouldn't do it."
