I love crispex. The best part about non-sugared cereal? You can add sugar.

I can understand why they need help. BUT committing fraud and lieing to get that help, is beyond me. The thing is- this girl can afford to feed herself if she gives up being snobby and finds a rental in her budget. *shakes head*

K smurf nugget - I hate when I see you in these thrads, you always, without fail, say something incredibly bitchy and wrong. Shut the smurf up, for real.

ANYWAY - 200.00 should be enough for two people, but since your situation has changed, I would attempt to apply for Food Stamps again, you may have to prove you are pregnant with a pregnancy test from the health department. WIC is supplemental, you get things like Bread, milk, cheese, cereal, juice, peanut butter - and you would likely qualify for that.

But yeah - don't ever try and screw around with them, being brought up on fraud charges would suck.

Meal plan like crazy and cut coupons!

Doing things like buying a whole chicken instead of expensive chicken breasts is a huge saver for us. You bake the chicken, serve it with veggies and rice or something, then you divide the rest into at LEAST two other meals. I can usually get 3 meals out of a big chicken and thats with 4 kids and 2 adults.

Pull ALL the chicken off - one night you can buy a box of pasta (1.00), A jar of Alfredo sauce (1.80) and a head of broccoli for around 1.00. Thats literally 5.00 for a meal with the chicken added .

The night after, you can do a chicken noodle soup. A bag of egg noodles (1.00), a pot of water (free!) and a stock base or bullion (sp? lol and this is something you buy once and month or so and use over and over) (say .20 worth of boullion) and a bag of mixed vaggies (1.00) Add the chicken. Another meal with meat and veggies for less than 5.00.

BEFORE you go to the store, you should sit down and find everything thats on sale that week, and plan cheap meals around whats on sale. If chicken is on sale, you eat chicken that week, if beef is cheaper, you eat beef. Supplement the meat with cheap and filling sides such as pasta, rice and beans. Then you add a veggie - only buy what you need. If you have 7 meals planned, you buy just what you need for those 7 meals.

For Lunches, lunch meat and a loaf of bread stretches pretty far.

For breakfasts, eggs are incredibly cheap and very healthy.

Very helpful! I never thought of buying a whole chicken, that's a great idea!

Being snobby?? Her rent doesn't seem that high to me. Sure she could move to the ghetto for maybe a hundred dollars cheaper, but why move there on purpose? It isn't being snobby when you want to live in a safer neighborhood.
