I was raised by an alcoholic who made meth in our trailer (which we had to shovel the roof when it snowed so it didn't cave in) we only had heat sometimes, and my mom was in and out of prison until I was in 6th grade. The drugs took over and nothing mattered to my bio father, nothing at all. We were the epitome of white trash, and I was made fun of ruthlessly in school. I remember middle school when I showed up and I looked....normal. People were shocked & I just kept thinking how I couldn't have controlled how my father tried to initially raise me. I knew very early that what he did didn't define who I could be, ya know?

It was interesting.   I definitely have compassion for kids in that situation though, there's nothing they can do to fix it. It makes me feel so bad for them.

Man I must be a nut job. I garden in tennis shoes, and if for whatever reason I do garden with flip flops on I rinse my feet before I leave. I hate dirty feet.

Even if I shower at 8. If I don't go to bed until 11:30 I will wash my feet again before bed.

I gave you all day yesterday to clean your room it didn't happen. You have thirty minutes this morning. No games, just clean.

No, I can't stand dirty feet either. If the kids play outside barefoot, I make them stand in the tub and walk around while the water is running to get the grime off.

lol. Don't get my post wrong, I don't like dirty feet! They're nasty. I'm just saying, I don't think that by itself = white trash. White trash is so much more than that. I suppose you could tell the difference between someone who just finished something like gardening, and someone who was just dirty due to lack of self-care though.

I think it also has to do witht he fact that if your feet are that dirty and it's not obvious you were gardening or something, it's probably just as likely that you are tracking that dirt all over your house and things.

They aren't allowed in the house. We have soap and a bucket outside to wash them. Lol

I was spray painting furniture the other day in sandals (like a dumbass)

My feet got some overspray on it. It looked just like dirt. I looked like a damn dirty hillbilly. lol

You totally can tell the difference. Just like you can tell when someone just finished working out vs someone not showering for a month.
