If there was a world-wide black out

posted 11th Dec
So if you have seen the show revolution, you will know what I am getting at.
Say electricity disappears tomorrow. No one knows why, there is no bringing it back. What would you do? How would you try to survive? Do you have any knowledge how, or would you be screwed from being so dependent on 'the system'?

Do you think there would be good that could come from it? Or only negatives?

I'd be glad I'm breast feeding and don't need to warm up any bottles

That said, I do think I could survive, but I think the world would be a train wreck. It would practically be the apocalypse.

I would move further north... I can assure you I would not survive in Florida hahaha. my AC is on year round... so after I moved, I would be thankful that I breastfeed and don't have to worry about that. Then I would be glad I eat mostly whole foods and so does my daughter... fruits and veggies can be eaten raw

I'd be screwed for the moment but I wouldn't just sit around being pissed about it. I'd figure out how to live without it. I see nothing positive about a world wide black out. Nothing good would come out of it. People will go nuts, violence would erupt, crimes, etc.

I'm a prepper, so I have this scenario covered.

We have a stock of food put aside, a garden, we have rain barrels, we have a generator with extra gas and we are installing both solar and wind power sources...we'd be fine.

First thing, I'd move North. Aint no way I'd live in the deep South with no A/C   Then we'd wing it. We'd be fine.

It would be like camping. Might be pretty cold, but we have plenty to be bundled up. We have kerosene heaters and some of those camping stoves. Water would probably be bad, so I would assume that boiling it would help...I'm not sure.

It would be boring as all hell. I went two weeks without power from a hurricane, and I thought I was going to die from lack of entertainment!

I see some good in it. Mostly the lack of chemicals in food, in our water supplies, hormones injected into our animals etc.

In that sense, yes. In the sense of actions of others, no.

I have food stocked for a year, water, guns and ammo, heritage seeds, land, building a bunker, and have taken classes in survival. We also stockpile cigarettes and gold and silver for bartering.

Overwhelmingly negatives. I live in a cold climate. My realtives were hit hard by Sandy. It was/is awful.
Thans for the reminder! I have to go to Costco today to get some more stock for my basement!
