Shoot! Don't tell him. Although I think he'd understand and make sure I had some tallow.

I feel ya!! I have eczema, so not only do my hands get like that, but various spots on my body get like that. It sucks!

I have to put goo on my daughters chin everyday now that it is cold and dry out.
If I don't, it looks like her face is dirty.
Whenever we have a storm in the winter I get nervous. No problem in the summer.
It's time for us to get a generator.

Goo? As in lotion? Lol I use ridiculous amounts of lotion. It helps a bit. I also have oatmeal baths once a week.

Winter storms don't bother me too much...it's the shoveling my way out of the house, than having to shovel the walk way and drive way, that bothers me. Lol

Goo as in Vitamin and Dointment or something like that. It goes away fast but comes back no matter what i do if it's cold and dry... and she dribbles toothpaste.

I love snow. I jus dont like the assoiated downed power lines.

Ah, yes, I know what that is. I can't use that stuff. It makes me break out in rash even more.

Yeah, I don't like downed power lines either. It happens at least once every winter here. Thankfully, our hydro guys are really quick at fixing stuff like that.

Luckily when it happened.. it was summer. I had a pool up and bathed the kids in there as it was a nice temperature. I probably just did dishes with cold, I can't remember any cleaning parts...why would I want to? lol

Yeah, year before last we lost power on two separate occasions, once for 2 weeks, the other for 4 weeks because of ice storms. It was miserable and we ended up sleeping on cots at my job because they had a generator and a shower that worked.

It's what got me started on prepping. I HATED sleeping at work for that long with a few of my coworkers. Now, I will never have to be in a situation like that again. I'll be able to stay at home (or the bug out location) and survive if I need to.

It also made me realize that people are dicks when they are cold and hungry!

Yup. They are dicks. Regular people resort to thievery. Generators were stolen during the Sand y aftermath. There were tussles over the limited number of hot water heaters.

I was living in manhattan when we had the blackout for a few days. Luckily it was summer and people were civil. If it was cold, it would have been different.
Those living on high floors are screwed!
I lived on the 3rd floor so it wasn't so bad.
But, the many weirdos in ny got even weirder. Lol
