Baby wrap

posted 11th Dec
DD is a big 5 and a half month old and I have the baby wrap. Forget what brand but its just the very long stretchy one. Any ways I put her in it so she's just facing me or outwards. I was wondering if anyone knows any other creative ways to put her in it. She's so big and hurts my neck they way I put her in it now

Just to let you know it is not good to have baby forward facing it can hurt them and also with stretchy wraps very dangerous to have them wrapped on your back.

It sounds like the moby. They have you tube videos you can look up to do a backpack hold or a hip hold. I cant post links because I'm on my phone.

You can do a hip hold/hip carry. Just search on youtube, a bunch of different vids will pop up!

Forward facing is a no no in a wrap, there really isn't any carrier I've seen that is good for forward facing..

Great thanks. I'm going to try the hip one. And I have the ultimate baby wrap. And I haven't actually tried forward facing yet because she always falls asleep when she's in it and I like to see her. But I can't imagine it's dangerous it's just the same as facing you

My sis have the Moby but switched to the Ergo when my niece was two months old. I find it more comfortable, but I haven't tried forward-facing with her.

Have you tried the Ergo? I don't have any neck issues when I use it, but it does make my back sore if I don't adjust it right. The snaps make it very easy to put on and I never worry about whether or not I've put her in it correctly or that she'll fall.
Everyone should have one,lol!

It is not the same. In order for a child to be properly wrapped the knees must be higher than the butt and this is not possible in the FF wrap most people do.

I was miserable with that style of wrap. I had to get the ring sling. However my son NEVER sleeps when I'm holding him. lucky mom huh?
He usually sits on my hip in the ring sling or the mesh sling. I don't like taking the mesh one out now though since it's middle of winter.
Maybe look in to trying a different carrier?

There's no support for their hips.

Also, personally I would rather not dangle from my crotch, so neither will my baby. I don't mean any offense, it's just how I feel.
