Regret your children?

This was e mailed to a local radio show host who posted on Facebook for comments and opinions:

" is there any way you could ask the Army's parents if theres any one of them that regret having kids? Both my 8 yr old boy and 6 yr old daughter are the worst behaved kids Ive ever seen and are just mean, hateful kids that never seem happy. My friends, my coworkers, all of them have seen it for themselves, these kids are miserable, angry little persons. I'm so frustrated."

Personally, I don't regret my kids. My two year old can be a little hellion sometimes but I don't regret them. I think that one the woman shouldn't have been attacked (there are over 100 comments on this) and two she also needs to realize that kids are going to misbehave and they need to be disciplined in one way or another. I personally spank my children and use timeout. That may not be everyone's point of view, but the discipline how they see fit. And that is what this momma should do. But. I'm coming to you ladies to see what you think. I've seen what everyone here in the south and in Arkansas thinks so I want some opinions from mommas from other places (:

Edit: The "Army" she is referring to are is the "Army" of listeners that listen to the radio show.

I don't regret my children. They drive me to the brink of insanity sometimes, but I love those little smurfs.

That woman needs to realize that children are a product of their environment.

I wonder why she said Army parents. Anyway, no I don't regret having them. I just wish I could have these exact children YEARS down the road. Instead of that lady talking negatively towards her kids, she should get to the root of the problem. She's not being that great of a mother right now just like they aren't being the best children. Takes one to know one.

My 2 year old now is so freaking bad and I would NEVER say for a second I regret my kids...

I regret having them so young.

Just because her kids misbehave doesn't mean she isn't disciplining them. :/

I guess sometimes kids can just be "bratty kids" no matter what you do, but the chances of this women getting two of them aren't very high. I tend to think it has to do with the way she's raising them.

I think it is very sad that she "regrets" her kids. I also think at 8 and 6 they didn't get that way overnight. I have to wonder how she raised them and the discipline that was implemented. You can't not put the time and effort into your kids and expect them to just know how to behave. That is what a parent is there for...to teach them right from wrong and what is acceptable behavior.

I think sometimes as adult when we are stressed and feeling down and out we say things we really don't mean after it is said. Yes, it is easy to just not say it but I have caught many people say things just because of stress that they later did not mean.We have to detach ourselves and realize that this poor lady might be just over stressed.
I do spank my kids on the butt and it is not illegal where I am from and we have less crimes..well recently we have had a lot of crimes because of lazy parents but I think we have to spank sometimes because times outs, talking, walking away just doesn't work. But, not everything needs a spanking.

Yes. I tend to regret BD but in no way shape or form do I regret DS even though I had him at 18.
