My mom tells me that any judge would just laugh in his face but I mean I still worry.

He'd have to fight for paternity before he could do anything.

With his record, i'd say its highly likely.

Yup... my ex came back after never being involved even when I was preg, and he still had rights, he went to court and a dna test was ordered... he established paternity and got 50/50 custody...
Its been 3 years since, he's still not on birth certificate and I have to pay outta pocket for his insurance because I agreed to no child support and my son kept my last name... my husband has been in deans life since he was 18months and he's 6 1/2 and my husband has no rights or responsibility fo dea even tho he has lived in his house and he helps me pay his tuition and med insurance which that alone coms out to 7,500. A year

the judge wont laugh in his face because of a criminal record my older brother has been to prison and he still has rights to his oldest child.

Lol, my ex was fresh outta prison and on parole and he was granted 50/50 legal custody...

Yes he still has rights even not being on the BC. He can show up one day and take your child and you would have to fight him for your child back. Because he is acknowledging that he is the father of that child. Regardless if he's on the BC or not. Unless you have a custody order in place there is nothing you can do. Atleast that's how it is here.
And no the judge will not laugh in his face due to his criminal record. Criminal records have nothing to do with your parenting.

My ex was in prison for 2 gun charges, and had car jacking and trafficking charged but never convicted of it, i all that was bought up in court and it didn't matter... he was still the *bio father*
