Quoting JessieLeeAnne:" Also, I believe the results will come out as "being a sahm is harder" because I believe the majority of BG are SAHMs. "

Probably so. That and the fact it's so late. Everything feels harder in the morning after a BG hangover

Working is easier for me. Minus missing LO.

For me being a sahm was harder, it's tortuous to me. I love working (dh loves being at home and is great at it). I am a better mom when I'm a working mom. I have more patience and I'm so much happier. Even bad days at my job is cake compared to bad days at home.

I've noticed that too. And even if the number were more even, I'd bet the majority of working moms in the US are asleep right now lol

It also depends on what you do for work and how you parent. If you arent active in your childs life and sit around all day, leaving your house trashed while your kids play and leave a bowl of cookies out for them to snack on, then yeah thats easier.

ive done both.
working is for me.
I went crazy staying home all day with my son.
I am not cut out to stay at home and clean and smurf.
I have to work.
just my preference.

I haven't done both, but I think working would be more physically tiring, but IMO worth it to save your sanity if you are going crazy being a SAHM. I kind of want a small part time job just to get away and be around people. But my son whines and screams constantly over EVERY little thing, like if something is crooked or somewhere where it doesn't belong, he flips And he has to put things back immediately or he freaks out terribly.. All day. So soon I am definitely going to try and find something, even if its just 15 hours a week. heck even 10.

However, being a SAHM is like work with no deadline. I have no set time of when I have to get things done.

I can't wait til LO can talk so I can go back to work. I feel uneasy leaving him with someone when he can't talk. :/

Everyday here is the same old thing. It gets super lonely. :/ I mean, I love caring for him and all the extra cuddle time we have, but with this routine and the cleaning the same thing every day because my house constantly looks like a tornado came and undid everything I have done...that part gets super old.

I hear you on that one, doing the same exact thing everyday with no variation sucks. Between my son and my SO...my cleaning is constantly being undone lol.

That's me too - I say for me SAHM is harder mentally & physically, but working was much harder for me emotionally.

I've done neither yet. I'd like to be a sahm, and maybe work 2 days a week when dh can be home with the baby. I just don't want to put my kid in daycare, I DO NOT TRUST someone else to raise/take care of my baby.

I think they both have their difficulties/perks. Depends on the person.

Quoting Devil's Advocate:" Where's the "neither is harder" option? I have done both and am currently a full time student and SAHM. It is a nice change from working 60 hours a week but it also comes with its own challenges. "
I think of student as "working"...and I thought i already had a gagillion options. I thought of throwing in a student one.
