For visitation there will be a court date, if you really him to have visitations bring all of that to court with you. Its really all in the hands of the judge and with judges its always best to get a lawyer if you can't afford a lawyer then make sure you have all your ducks in a row and stay as calm as you can in the court room. You can call legal aid and see if you can get help with a lawyer but I dont know if they help with legal aid when it involves family court.

Legal aid will fill out her paperwork for her and tell her what to do/say, they make u sign a paper saying u understand they won't be in court with u...

In Texas you can not file until the baby is born then you need to file for full custody so he does not file for it and take your child away. If that happens you may have to pay him child support. Now, if you breastfeed he can not have more than a few hours and he can not have the child overnight.
