How much do you spend per kid ?

It really depends on what I find or what they need.

I spent less than 50. We don't do a lot of presents, it's silly and a waste and a lot of what we got is "needs" like PJs and such. We focus more on family activities on Christmas.

See I grew up in a family that went WAY overboard, and I know it's silly but I feel like I have to buy my kids a ton of stuff or i'm a bad mom.

I don't really have a "budget". I just pick up random stff as I find it. I have probably spent $200 on DD this year and I am done. She is the only person I shop for though so my entire "Christmas budget" was $200

They donated most of their toys this year and we are doing really well financially so we kind of went all out (by our standards) this year. We spent about 500 per kid, we have 2. Not including the 3800 dollar swingset we got for the backyard.

I'm an over spender too.... and then I feel bad when it's broke or something later.... like I wasted money. I bought all three of my girls each a DS, with cases and a game a piece... plus another toy each....

150-200 on their big present(s) another 100 or so each on small gifts and stocking stuffers.

This doesn't count my in-laws gifts. they probably spend another 300.00 on each kid.

I have one child so my opinion of spending less might be different when I have more kids. We've decided we would spend $40 on him on this toy he really wants and that's it. We know there will be more presents for him from other family members. Grandparents, uncles ect.

It wouldn't make you a bad mom. Christmas is about family, not spending stupid amounts of money to make yourself stop feeling guilty.

My family (parents mostly) still go over board and even though I am extremely thankful and love the amazing stuff they get us I know I will not personally be buying that much stuff for my kids just because it really is not necessary. I say spend to your means. If you live on a budget and after all your bills and needs are taken care of each month you only have maybe 100 dollars to your name. Maybe save one of those months for birthday and one for Christmas and divide it between your kids. We have loose income and I don't spend more then 25 dollars on my nephews and probably will not spend more then Im guessing around 50 for my son next year (he will be almost 1 at Chirstmas time). Spend to your means is my advice. Especially if you have babies and toddlers your buying for they dont care.

We spend about 100- 150 each and alot of it is things they need like clothes, shoes, bedding and school supply stuff.

I know, my parents drilled that mess into my head. I'd like to find some fun family traditions to start.

I'm not done yet. But its a lot. Lol more then last yr but less per kid since I have one more this yr.

The only one who really got toys this yr was the baby. Lol
