I would be super pissed and they wouldn't be allowed around him unless I was with them.

I would flip smurf. They would NEVER be aloud alone with my child again, I do not spank and even if I did, no one would be aloud to hit my child.

i would be pissed but it depends on who the relative is. because i trust my mom's judgement but i would be so mad if my brother did it.

Depends on why they did it. A relative smacking my child's hand away from a knife or hot stove? I'd let it go. Spanking him for something minor? NOT okay. I'd bitch them.out and let them.know that if it happened again, I would be calling the.cops.

My fil did it.

Depends on th reliative. If it were my mom or dad it would not bother me but anyone else I would be extremly pissed.

If the kid deserved it, then I'm all for it. I've never spanked someone else's child but I do spank my own child.

I am fine with it. Although I would hope they used it as a last resource when all else fails and not just jumped and spanked without trying other methods first.

If I wasn't okay with it, I'd be upset and tell that person that I do not want them spanking my child at all.

It's okay if my kid was about to do something life threatening, like run in the street or playing with a knife. Any other reason, not acceptable.

My sister is the only one that can discipline my kids, but she has never had to hit them and she's been around both of them since they were both born. If she doesn't do it, then no one else has a reason to.

Temper tantrum, pretty minor. I just ignore the 20mo olds fits or put him in time out. This is by Dh's sister, who has ZERO respect for me at all because she was jealous I had children. She tried to argue with me over it when the youngest had just turned 1 because her "friends said it was the right way to parent; to "shock them". I honestly started to get that adrenaline rush and was ready to nail her in the smurfing face. Btw, this is the same woman who blamed me for her marriage failing after 11 months. She is very bitter and controlling

I would call the police non emergency line, tell them that your SIL hit your child and ask if it's possible to press assault charges. Did it leave a mark?

I'd be pissed. Because I think DH and I should be the only people to spank LO. Unless it's to get him away from something that can obviously hurt him...then you don't need to spank my child, there are other ways to punish.

No, but the fact that she is constantly undermining my authority, blaming me for her problems, trying to find ways to take my kids away from me (because I was depressed), and now all of a sudden my kids bite, slap and kick each other- I'm furious. It was really uncalled for. She's always trying to argue with me. I cannot wait to move out. I wanted her out of the house last year. This woman is not on enough meds
