Question about BUTTER

posted 10th Dec
So, is it healthier to cook with butter or oil? lol.
My fiance keeps trying to make me switch to butter and he is claiming it is by far healthier and will help me lose...but I don't know..everyone else keeps telling me it's fattening.

Butter is good if you're low carbing but otherwise unhealthy.

I guess some new research came out that is claiming its better for you and that cultures that eat a lot of saturated fat are healthier now(not heart disease which is confusing scientists)...
My fiance is sold on it... he is putting butter in his freaking coffee. >.>

SO I wanted some opinions lol

It's all really weird to me.

I don't know. I guess cultures that use a lot of butter are healthy though like France. They have a far less obesity rate then here and they don't get heart disease so idk. Nutrition is ALWAYS changing and confuses the eff out of me lol.

My fiance is not fat btw XD He is 6'2'' and 158lbs. So he is super thin. He is claiming that his friend put butter in his coffee as well and has lost 4lbs from it...

I dont get it!! lol

Olive oil is fine to use as long as it is only used once and not heated to the point that it smokes. If used more than once or heated to high it will actually loose it's nutritional qualities.

I cook with a variety of oils. I rarely use olive oil anymore, but I still keep some on hand for occasional use.
I use organic valley butter (clean fat)
Safflower oil, Grapeseed oil, and coconut oil. I love all of those healthy choices.
I have veggie oil, truffle oil and a few others just for here and there use.

I would say organic butter would be healthier to cook with, extra virgin olive oil should not be heated above 325 degrees.
