Induction
posted 10th Dec
I am getting induced at exactly 41 weeks. I've been 1cm, 50% effaced for three weeks now it sucks so bad to not be making any progress. I am hoping that Lo will decide to come before than but I am highly doubting it as I'm having no contractions what so ever! Do you have any advice on inductions, how long they take, maybe your induction story?

Dang girl that's crazy. I give props to you for going that long. I am afraid of the risk of being pregnant after 42 weeks. I hope you labor starts. I've never heard a good induction story ):

If what I'm currently experiencing isn't beginning labor, I am being induced also -- I specifically searched for GOOD INDUCTION STORIES on BG because I hear a lot of negative things... I got some good threads (: If you don't get many replies, try that!

inductions usually arnt fun, but really, what labor is? haha. the main thing to remember is patience. your trying to make your body do something it doesnt want to do, and it can take a while. my induction lasted 5 days....5 very long days of pain and contractions, and slllooow progress, but did end with a vaginal birth of a very healthy 10 pound boy. my main goal was a vaginal birth, and was very happy to wait 5 days for it to happen. even though my induction sucked, im not against doing it again, and due to high bp, will prolly end that way again, and im trying to stay positive, and patient about it.
that being said, my mom, had all three of us kids thru induction, had 3 hour labors with each of us, and said it was a peice of cake! (ugh, hate her guts!) so everyone is differnt, and you could easily be one of the lucky ones! get some rest and enjoy your labor!

I was induced with my first, and was 4 cm and 80%. I had her after 7 hours. I'm being induced on Thursday with my second, and I'm 5 cm. and 100%.

Omg why did your labor last 5 days if you don't mind me asking. I don't know or at least hope my doctors wouldn't let it last that long

it was my first baby, not uncommon for an induction to last several days with your first baby. 4 of those days were spent trying to get my cervix favorable. i was one cm, 50 % when the induction started, and had every drug possible to soften, and finally, they did the foley bulb and that worked.

Omg, how does your baby not come out if you are 5 cm and 100% effaced?? I'm waiting for my girl to come out this week, I don't want to go through another induction :/

My cervix was still tilted backwards instead of forward. I was only in labor for 3 1/2 hours.

That's great news! I would love to be in labor for only 3 1/2 hours! Congrats on your little one! was your induction not as intense this time since you were dilated more and fully thinned out??
