clostridium difficile?

Has anybody ever encountered this before? They are testing ds for this because of his severe diarrhea. They're also testing for the rotavirus again. They're also checking his urine for a UTI. Then Thursday they're doing an upper GI scope. Idk what to think and I can't find much useful information on the internet.

C. diff is nasty, and it's very contagious, so I would suggest that you and your children wash your hands frequently, just in case your hubby does have it. Has he been on any antibiotic therapy lately? C. diff can be caused by long-term antibiotic therapy. Basically, the body wipes out the good and bad bacteria. It can be tricky to get rid of. It's usually treated with Vancomycin, a potent antibiotic.

C. Diff is horrible. Saw it a handful of times while doing clinicals. Its also fairly easily spread.

C-diff sucks my patients get it a lot smells really bad most of the time their given antibiotics for about 2 weeks it is contagious.

If you have more then one bathroom I would have him use one of them and the rest of you use the other till it's cleared up it's very easy to spread.

Has your son been on antibiotics?

He has been several times since he was 3 weeks old. They are also checking again for rotavirus since he had that last week too.
