Babies first haircut

Do you have any before/after pictures?
I'm so afraid to get LO's hair cut, he's 20 months. I'm afraid he will be squirmy or cry. Did their hair grow faster after you cut it for the first time?

My DD all I got was her bangs cut, But my friend has two little boys and he was around the same age when he got his first hair cut she said he was more curious than anything, I guess it just depends on the kid because I've heard stories of kids freaking out.

I just got my LOs hair cut.

I brought teddy grahams and a lolly pop for him, but he still didnt like it at ALL. He did okay with the scissors, but as soon as those clippers touched him, he went hysterical! I would bring along some reinforcement.

Before

After

Not a big change in the front, just its out his eyes...but the back was long and curly, so now it looks sooo much nicer. His big boy hair is growing in underneath, so that is why it looks choppy.

My first was around a year.

My second was 6 months lol(did it in his bumbo)

They squirm alot. I cut my kids at home..

I advise finding a place that does first haircuts and kids.. I did my kids so theyd be more comfortable. My oldest hates a haircut to this day lol he freaks out. My youngest had a seriously crazy mohawk naturally and I couldnt stand it anymore..he did great.

Suckers are great. I have to give LO a sucker before shots and it calms him down a lot. I'll probably do that. My son has a crazy long mullet that for some reason I don't want to cut.

I know! same with my LO. It was so long and curly in the back...I thought I would miss it so I held off for a long while...and he twirled it when he was sleepy.   But I am glad I got it done and over with. He looks so much more grown up and his hair should be thicker and nicer growing back out, too.

He was SO bad when I threw the sucker away! Now I know what taking candy from babies comes from. lol.

This is the mullet all combed out. It's bad. I feel almost like a hoarder..like HE NEEDS his mullet. lol

Oh lord! lol. My LOs would be like that if I didnt get it cut...

But, you know, you cnan save the whole thing if you want.

I saved 5 different curls that were my favorite.   You could be like me and the night before, just spend as much time brushing it, putting your finger through it, etc. I admit, I teared up when they were cutting it, but I am so glad they did. He looks ten times handsomer! You can do it!

((My mom grew out my rat tail I was born with and used to braid it...horrible!))
