As far as I know where she works they get 6 weeks unpaid maternity leave. So I have no idea if she'd be held accountable for lying. I do know she's most certainly lost her job.

Oh your poor brother   I feel awful for him. This whole mess is just a nightmare of a fiasco. I can't believe she even lied to her own family about it, and the maternity thing just....wow!

Wow...just wow. What in the hell enables someone to do something like this?! And to carry it out until the very end? What the hell was going through her head? So she wrote a note to him saying she was at the hospital? I'm sure she was going to say she had a stillborn then. Thank god your brother had you call.

Almost the same thing happened to my brother
My brother now wife did the same thing. She brought home a paper with her due date but then she refused to let my brother go to any drs appt, no ultrasound pics, nothing. She is super skinny & did not look pregnant at all. Fast forward, she's now 3 or 4 weeks overdue. She goes into "labor" goes to L&D and says that the baby stopped growing & died from radiation poisoning from a xray of her foot when she was 8 weeks. Now she went to the hospital by herself, they removed the baby & sent her home. All while my brother was at work. Ummm yeah I don't think so
And on top of it all she gave all the baby stuff everyone gave her, away to her pregnant sister. My brothers a dumbass & wouldnt listen when we all told him that she was lying

Idont know if the baby supposably died at 8 weeks or was stillborn. We all know WHY she did it, my brother said she had to get a job and help out with bills. Then when she got pregnant he said she didnt have to work.
We didnt question her about the baby afterwards just because my brot her is one of those guys who are desperate for a gf so it wouldnt have made a difference
