I still think OP's brother deserves some closure from it, even if she's just made to apologise. It's really not fair for him that she's going to get out of this with no consequences. At least she doesn't have a giant tv now... Although I would have kept it

Some guys are desperate to keep someone they love that they believe anything.

Yeah. And you can't say that women don't do the same thing. You just don't want to see the truth when you love them. My ex was a master manipulator when it came to me. He'd conveniently "forget" where he'd left his phone for days at a time, disappear off the face of the earth and then come back weeks later and apologise. Then he would just expect me to give him what he wanted and leave again. I can't even remember consenting to half the things he did to me and yet I still let him do it because I believed he loved me.

I know so many girls and guys who fall into this trap and I guess I just wanted OP's brother to come out of it feeling a little less hurt. Can't win 'em all, I suppose

i had an ex who was exactly like that. and i would make excuses for him all the time, like when he would disappear and not answer my calls id think hes probably at work, or maybe hes sleeping, etc even when i knew it wasnt true. i loved him and made excuses for him because i didnt want to believe the truth.

relationships suck sometimes, i feel bad for both OP's brother and his girlfriend. him because he clearly loved her and its obviously a painful situation. her because i feel like she needs some serious mental help.

We don't usually get paid maternity leave... You get like 6 unpaid weeks off, but you get the promise of your job back when you come back...

We get paid maternity leave and I think men can get paternity leave too now but I'm not sure if it's the same rate or length.

My husband paid for short term insurance for being out of work, and couldn't even use that for paternity leave. But if you're a woman and pay for short term/long term disability insurance you can use that to get like 60% of your wages while on maternity leave.

Technically men can legally take maternity leave here too, but it's the same as with women... companies don't have to offer paid maternity leave so they don't.

Yea I think that rule comes in after January 1st. My SO told me to make it to my due date, which is the 2nd so he can get paternity leave

When I worked at the sex shop there was a stripper who would come in fairly regularly and she always carried around a picture of Judge Judy. Supposedly some guy paid her to take it where ever she went.

You don't have to be nice. He's made himself look like a shining dumb ass. I hate that she did this to him and I'm beyond pissed for him but I have been telling him all along. And I'm not the only one. It is what it is though. She's still a right smurfing nut case.
