If it was 53 after giving him the juice, how low could it have been?

Does he use the bathroom on himself during/after these episodes?

There are MANY types of seizures. My friend has two autistic children, one with epilepsy, one without. My boyfriend's son has it and will have sensory seizures.

I also know people with different forms of epilepsy. Different types of seizures. And I'm an EMT.

But seriously, an EEG is a great start for him.

My daughter doesn't have autism but does have epilepsy. She was 2.5 when diagnosed. I basically deprived her of sleep the night prior that way she slept through most of it. Her first seizure happened upon waking, she screamed (which woke me up) and when I went to check on her she was having a grand mal in her bed. When the medics got to my house the seizure was over and she was sleeping. She woke up in the ambulance and by the time we got to the hospital was acting like a normal 2.5yr old. As they were discharging her she was coloring and just suddenly dropped into full convulsions. After that the seizures were continous until she was given enough meds to stop them.

he's not potty trained yet so I'm unsure whether he becomes incontinent or not

and yeah, seizures can present in so many different ways, that's why this is confusing for me   Plus, he doesn't have much verbal communication other than repetitive speech, so I can't even ask him about these episodes.

Thank you for your help/advice

Ah, my boyfriend's son started out repetitive, too, he has full conversations with me and is very smart.

It could be epilepsy, or sensory seizures. Check his diaper after every event. Record everything you see or he does. It all helps with diagnosis.

Even if he could answer he might not even remember. My daughter would sometimes remember things sounding like being "in a fish bowl" right before and she never remembered anything from during the seizure. Sometimes she would lose memories of that day and sometimes things she had known for a long time.

I hope it all goes smoothly for him and you get the answers you need.

OMG that was probably so scary for you

thank you for sharing your experience.

has she ever had an episode, particularly upon waking, like I described? Does this sound like seizure activity or a postictal state to you?
