Christmas goodie plates

I am going to make goodie plates for all the neighbors, when do you start making all of your Christmas goodies? This is my first year ever doing something like this so I'm not sure when is too soon or too late KWIM?

Anytime after Thanksgiving/Before Christmas is a good time IMO. I've already made some puppy chow and mini cheesecakes. I'll be making buckeyes tomorrow.

How do you make buckeyes?
