enough for him??

posted 10th Dec
My son will be 4 Christmas day. I was wondering if you think this is enough and what you got your kiddos? I also don't want to go overboard like I did last year b.c I want him to know the "True" meaning of Christmas.

Santa's gift:
Innotab 2 s (with wifi) and two games Dora and Cars ($150)
Stocking with 1-3 dollar things ($20)

From me:
Farm animal toys $8
2 outfits from TCP. ($50)
Legos ($11)
Hungry Hippos game ($20)

Thats it.
Also since he was born on Christmas we do his B-day in Feb when he was originally due. Also b.c no one ever came in Dec b.c of Christmas with families ect..
so, what did you kids get? how much did you spend??

My youngest's birthday is a week before Christmas and I always do a small party where he gets 1-2 smaller gifts from us.

For Christmas this year, my kids are getting "something you want, something you need, something to wear & something to read". Plus stockings. Mainly because we are struggling financially right now, but I think we will continue it on.

I don't think that you've gone overboard at all, as long as you can afford it, kwim?

I've spent 200, so far.

He got a huge table with the little towns and trains on it
Red Radio Flyer bike
Box of Hot Wheels
Sponge Bob bath toys
And I'll probably get him a few more car things lol

I try not to get too much because his Birthday is in February and I always get him a huge gift then.

That looks great. It's not about what you spend anyway.

Yeah that is enough. We only got one gift for our three year old, also born in December, she is getting train tracks. They were $30.00. Then a couple $3.00 books for stocking. She will get plenty from family, too much in fact that we donate after Christmas.

We are still paying off student loans and saving up for a house so we never spend a lot.

That seems like more than enough. This year we are so broke, so far I got them some dollar tree stocking stuffers (nail polish for dd and temporary pirate tatts for ds, a hotwheels car and cupcake erasers). The main gifts for ds are a paperjams guitar, a hotwheels carrying cas. And we havent gotten dds main gifts im thinking a disney princess dress and a dollhouse. Thats all we are getting.

That is so true, thank you for posting that. People on BG and my husband's family always make me feel guilty for not spending a lot.

can I be your kid?

my 3 year old is getting ALOT of dollar store stuff lol like magnifying glasses, dinosaur stickers, coloring books, little hotwheels, ect.

imaginext batman set, batmobile(<--big gift), the little flying lightening mcqueen and mater, and an angry bird watch..

my soon to be toddlers birthday is next month.. and I'm at a loss to what to get him other than little people stuff.. we already have everything for a kid in his age range..(including clothes) and its his first Christmas anyway.. he won't grasp it.

we only get our kids handfulls of stuff really.. because they deserve a good Christmas. we spoil them year round regardless.. but Christmas isn't about getting its about giving. we don't even do Santa..

my DD and DS are 2 and 4 are their favorite thing I ever did for them that I saw them get the most exicted about cost me under $5 for both of them. We watched the Polar Express and got the book from the library and my kids fell in love with it so I found the golden ticket online and printed it out for free and bought 2 silver bells and sent them to them from Santa and told them to remember the real meaning of Christmas is to give to others and to believe, they freaked out! They carry the bells around with them and my DS asks everyone if they can hear it, lol!

HAHA sure!
That is where I got some of his stocking stuffer stuff. He got a disk shooter, the balloon things ( you squeeze it out of the tube and blow it up). 2 lego figure packets, a lego car package, and a flashlight.

aww thats very sweet.
My son's favorite book is about the Christmas story. It has baby Jesus in the manger and it lights up, singing Silent night. Unfortunaly the battaries wore out and I need to find how to get more for the book. He loves that book. I just need to send in for replacement battaries, or buy my own.
