When do you think is a good time for babies to start sleeping in their own room? my LO will be 8 weeks on thursday and had been sleeping in his bassinet in our room since he was born.he only wakes once to eat at night.

Depends on you, but I waited until LO was sleeping through most of the night ((not waking every three/four hours)) and he could roll over good. I think he was around 4 or 5 months.

most babies do sleep in their own room but because I am paranoid lol my son sleeps in our room. (well he sorta has too because we only have a 2 bedroom house right now and daughter occupies the other room). I am dreading moving into a 3 bedroom and him being alone in there. I told my hubby I will probably sleep by his door the first month or so lol

If we had an extra room DS would've been in his own room at probably a month and a half when he started sleeping through the nights. Hoping to find a new place around tax season so he can have his own room and so I don't have a crib in mine lol.

We kept DS in his bassinet next to our bed until he started pulling himself up on it and trying to look out over the side and I was worried he would fall out. I'll never forget the morning I woke up and he had his top half out over the side and he was smiling at me haha. That was his last night in it lol. He was 4 months old and almost too long for it anyway. It was the closest to actual co-sleeping I felt safe with. I was so scared I would smother him so I just put his bassinet right up against the bed and kept my hand in it on him so I could feel him breathing. It's completely up to you, though. My mom never had any of us in the same room with her.

Well,i have two older girls and I coslept with both.BAD idea, they still come in my bed in the middle of the night.so I decided with this one I wouldnt do that and actually use the baby bed that we bought.
Im probably just going to wait until he can roll over,if he doesnt get to big for the bassinet before then.

Thank you all for the replies

DS will be 4 months christmas eve and his crib is in mine and DH's room.

We live with my mother so DS doesnt have his own room, but even when we lived in our bigger house where DS had his own room he didnt sleep in it, he slept in his pack n play next to our bed. I dont think i would sleep with him in his own room...... i would prolly end up waking in the middle of the night and going and sleeping next to his crib lol
