how long after getting off birthcontrol..

did it take for you to get a period? I am NOT breastfeeding. I was on the implanon. and I got it taken out due to medical issues I can no longer have birthcontrol.
its been just over 4 weeks and STILL no period. about a week after having it removed I had a little bit of spotting for a few hours in one day. went and bought tampons was SURE I was going to have a period. but nothing. shouldnt I have had something by now?
