re: My fellow December Ladies! =)

I'm due on Christmas Day and decided to go a different route this pregnancy. I'm connected to a midwife who has been treating me at a birth center for all of my check ups etc and will come to my home to deliver my baby. This is my 3rd baby, with no previous complications. My first was induced 2 days early for no reason other than the Dr said I wasn't dilating yet. My second I wanted to go into labor on my own and my Dr tried and tried to get me to schedule an induction weeks before delivery. She stripped my membranes without asking and my baby was born 3 days before her due date. This time, I'm just trying to enjoy it all and let it happen on its own. I refuse to get checked, know the dilation or effacement this round. It's going to happen when it's supposed to anyway, so why get all worked up about it? Trying a different approach on all counts here, just trying to enjoy every last minute of it that I can. Only 2 weeks left till my due date, no matter how miserable I am, it's kinda sad. Not rushing this one at all. Hope you ladies find some peace of mind and can relax and wait out the baby making the decisions. Once they're born, Mom is in charge, LOL! (unil they look at you with those big, sad eyes and you cave)

I agree.. .I won't induce and will wait it out but it's hard to be patient when everyone else is having signs of labor... we are practically neighbors by the way... lol..

I know, waiting and wondering is so hard. I've had a couple of friends already deliver and were due after me. I don't even know my babies gender this time, just going old school with it all.. I feel completely unprepared, but I have everything I need and will do some more shopping after the baby is here and sleeping tons. Very difficult because I'm a planner all the way!! We are practically neighbors, with the same due date too. that's awesome! Small world.

Ya.. I could NOT wait to find the sex bc I am such a planner too.. but now, I am also waiting around bc I am also kinda "cheap" too. I dont wanna take the tags off things and wash yet bc I dont know if he's gonna be big/lil or what. I dont wanna have stuff that I dont use...

My thought is that women have been having babies for centuries without all this preparation, and well the human race has managed to survive so far.. so i figure I'm gonna wing it mostly too.. I just hope the delivery goes as smoothly as it did with my daughter nearly 12 years ago. 5 pushes and she was here.. 3 before doctor ever made it to the room.

still don't know if im effaced or dilated yet...but i did go in yesterday for my first NST and AFT ..by the looks of it she will come late because her fluids are still high...shes still head down ...very active...but i have an apt. today so im going to ask if they can check me an maybe do a membrane sweep....

What do her fluid levels have to do with it?

im not exactly sure, but when my doc did the u/s last week @ 37 he did comment on the placenta, and not being a certain "color" or look.. meaning I had a lot more time.. Maybe it's something similar.

My due date is Christmas Day (althought the fetal doctor put me at Dec 22) but at my last appt on the 4th, the doc told me I was effaced , 0% dilated but that could have DS anytime now!! Very exciting! Still having lots of BH and he's pushing down hard. Still working, hoping I make it through the week!   I have an appointment tomorrow so I'll know more then!! Also, I have been having both my arms go numb during the night...anyone else experience this??

its the amount she has remaining...dr. said since my fluid level is still high and im due on Monday he said she will be late...because the levels start to drop when you get closer to your due date an more or less you know baby is coming...he said the highest is 21 for any woman an mine is at a 17...but tomorrow ill know more or less if ill be induce...i finally found out if i was dilated ...she says im 1cm....not a big number but some progress since my due date is around the corner

How do they measure that? ? Looking at ultrasound or what?

My fluid was checked on sunday and it was 13...im also 1cm as of today and around 10% thinned. Im due dec 21st. I've also had light spotting throughout today.

I had my appt yesterday I am 2.5 cm and 60% thinned!

Oh and baby is at a -3 station =)

Due December 21st, 2 cm dilated, 70% effaced and head is at a -2 station. Lots of cramping and pain in my pelvis. I was almost induced due to protein in urine and super high blood pressure, but it went down while I was in the hospital. I want my little guy to get here sooo badly!!

i feel ya.. today was my first day of showing progress... 1-2 cm dilated,30% effaced.. and well DR felt the head.. but i dont know what "station" that would be.. our visits are pretty simple. Feel pretty good other than being sooo dang anxious to hold him, and see what he looks like and kiss him and all that.. it's torture!!
